An Oklahoma man’s attempt to retrieve a dropped double-sawbuck landed him not in hot water, but in sewer water.
Police in Lawton tell KSWO-TV they rescued a man trapped in they town’s underground water drainage system for two days.
A group of teens heard cries for help coming from a manhole cover and called 911.
“We see a gentleman down in the bottom of it and it seemed that he had been down there a couple of days,” said Sergeant John Chelenza.
“That’s the first time in going on 28 years that we have found somebody down in a storm drain,” he added.
Lawton police officer Alicia Redding also responded to the call. “I was amazed. I was confused how he had gotten down there and amazed that he was still okay,” she told the…
